Robin CASTEX Yachting Design - About

Robin Castex

Portrait of Robin Castex, designer specializing in boating and French multidisciplinary artist, founder of EMART Design, combining creation, art and mechanics.

UNIVERSAL

Precise lines, controlled curved volumes, a quiet geometry: I search for the right tension, the one that balances strength, restraint and coherence.

I translate a client deeper needs into readable forms, adapting to their universe without losing my own. Each project becomes a tailor-made response, structured by intention and technical mastery.
I see each piece as an architecture reduced to essential.
The material, wood, composites, metal, stone, glass, becomes a land of expression where technical rigor reveals the original intention.

My work moves between furniture and yachting, two different contexts shaped by the same language: precision, control, clarity.

BIO

Born in 1987 in the south of France, I have spent for more than fifteen years developing a practice positioned between yacht design, furniture and industry. With a background in aeronautics, ultra-luxury and the nautical sector, I have built a fine understanding of the real constraints: structure, manufacturing, tolerances, systems and curved volumes.

My past as a professional athlete in extreme sports shaped my relationship to movement, trajectory and control. This culture of precision informs the way I approach each project, with particular attention to clarity and the accuracy of forms.

Today I work with studios, shipyards and brands on unique pieces as well as serial products. From sketching to 3D development and prototyping, I oversee each stage to ensure a faithful translation of the initial intent and controlled execution.

EMART Design

Technical expertise, singular design and style

Our expertise in the design of aeronautical and nautical cabins is based on a fine understanding of plastic, metal and composite materials. This mastery guarantees our clients reliable support and impeccable execution of their projects.

With our achievements and mastery of high-end technologies, we offer innovative and efficient design, research and development services.

The layout

For each project, we develop custom design solutions, combining aesthetic finesse and technical mastery. From the outside lines to the overall layout of a ship, to the research and strategic positioning of your product on the market, we intervene at every stage with demand and creativity.

The search for a singular design regarding technical characteristics

An interior goes hand in hand with its exterior, it is little to be in perfect harmony or in total opposition, everything depends on the message we want to elicit. Some environments are subject to high user and manufacturing constraints, so we must take it all into consideration in order to obtain a fair return.

The EMART Design universe is built around visual perceptions playing on shapes and functions.

Each creation is designed to be distinctive, functional and meaningful. We question its image, its value and its ability to fit permanently into time.

The process

STEP 1: Study of the idea, product, function

Consideration of the universe, past and future impacts, customer expectations, needs.

STEP 2: Drawings, sketches and layout

We guarantee that technical constraints are taken into account from the first sketch.

An object, however revolutionary it may be, will have manufacturing and use constraints. The knowledge of these factors and their integration from the first drawing will guarantee a product that is not only aesthetic but also sustainable.

STEP 3: Storytelling, material analysis and finishing

We create a history around the product, a situation. The textures and materials will have an impact on its environment or on the product itself and it is important for us to show them to you.

STEP 4: 3D implementation

Depending on your project and your needs, we realize 3D aesthetics up to 3D ready for manufacturing.

We work on several softwares. Top-performing software for technical 3D.
